Our Mission

The mission of NMRCGA is to promote public safety, environmental protection and the integrity of underground infrastructure and facilities by promoting effective damage prevention as a shared responsibility.

Beginnings

The NMRCGA was established in 2004 as one of forty regional affiliates of the Common Ground Alliance, an organization formed in 2000 to continue damage prevention efforts embodied in the groundbreaking 1999 Common Ground Study sponsored by the U.S. Department of Transportation. This study included the collaborative work of 1,690 industry professionals who identified best practices related to damage prevention.
